Mark has an exstensive portfolio in oil painting (20 yrs practice), sketch work and tattooing. He had been working from home as a self employed artist (painter) for many years before coming to work at Urban Edge. Mark's oil painting experience spans twenty years, with works shown locally and in London. He has sold works locally and overseas. Also his years of observeing other Artists works at exhibition and in the flesh has helped him develope a true sense of what is well executed Art and what is not.
Why diversify to tattoo Art? Well why not is his reply. Painters diversify their medium. In the old days, it was toward sculpture. He has also developed the 'colour mixing' skills to a high level; one asset highly needed for the tattoo medium.

With the Art of tattoo; Mark has many regular customers who use his designs for their continuing pieces again and again.

Using a variety of needle groupings Mark is able to tackle most design types. He also takes on many of the shops cover up pieces and, like Paul and Rob, has developed an eye for what will cover an old piece well.

Mark is available for appointments 10am till 6pm, Monday through to Saturday. SUNDAYS (th lords day) OFF.

<This is how I like to tattoo a babies hand print. Try to generate a realist approach, and capture the grasp, or movement. The photo of this was taken fresh; when it heals the shade will become lighter.

PORTRAITS start from £150, animal portraits from £100.

The last session on this fairy sleeve took two hours. 1 1/2 hours to complete the fairy with line, shade and then colour. The other half hour was a bit more bamboo work.

Why not have your tattoos enhanced with dermal piercings, as in the above Dragon.

Two and a half hours.
